The Illustrated Guide of Yokai

Bom, esse é um trabalho que eu mencionei em um journal anterior. Resumindo, é um mini portifólio de ilustrações. O tema são os Yokais. Pra quem não sabe, Yokais são figuras do folclore japonês. (mais sobre os yokais aqui [link] )

Se você é um fã de anime ou admira a cultura japonesa como eu, deve conhecer alguns destes personagens. Eu escolhi 20 deles para ilustrar e escrever um breve texto, contando alguma história ou curiosidade sobre o Yokai em questão. Os Yokais citados nesse livro são os seguintes:

Foi um trabalho bem divertido de fazer. Gostei de desenhar coisas diferentes pra variar, e foi legal conhecer mais da cultura japonesa. eu pretendia pintar todos os desenhos, mas acabou faltando tempo =T pintei só 3.

A parte que eu mais me orgulhei acho que foi a encadernação ^^ só foi feita uns dias antes da entrega, mas eu gostei do resultado.

I finally managed to update my deviantart! I thanked every favourite, answered the comments and looked at all the deviations i had to \o/ Thanks for everyone who commented or posted their work.

Well, this is a work that i mentioned in a previous journal. I´t's a portfolio of illustrations. The subject is "yokais". For those who do not know, yokais are japanese legendary characters, like the elves or gnomes of the western culture. Normally, the yokais are mistaken for demoniac beings, but they're only creatures that were created to explain some "supernatural phenomenom". The word "yokai" may be translated as "bizarre" or "wierd".

If you are an anime fan or apreciates the japanese culture, you may be familiar to some of those characters. I chose 20 of them to draw and write a little text about it, telling some story or curiosity about it. the ones I chose are listed above.

This was a fun work to do. I enjoyed drawing something different for a change, and it was interesting to know a little more about the japanese culture. I intended to paint all of them, but i ran out of time, and ended up painting only 3 =T maybe I'll post them latter in scraps. (I POSTED THEM ALREADY)

The part that i'm most proud of is probably the cover ^^ it was made only a few days before the deadline, but i liked the result.
